X. Ang Tatay Kong Kalbo

When I first learned about the title, I immediately laughed, because my dad is bald. I liked the play of the Theatro Phileo, I think that they really have portray the filipino version of an absurd play. I really liked Mrs. Santos and I find the laugh of the the actrs very funny, that it was very infectious. Even if I did not like the line or the scene I still laugh because of the laugh of the actors.

I did not understand much of the play but I sure did had a lot of fun. Some scenes would be had to understand but there are always those punch lines that made me enjoy the play. I loved the setting of the play. There were portraits that were really funny.

It was one of those feel good movies, that even though I did not understand somethings I was still smiling the whole time.

After we watched the play, one of our professors told us that each character symbolizes something. And that the main symbol in the play was the grandfather clock that was in the setting. It symbolizes time, that we continue on living our life on menial things. We continue living the only life that was granted to us not realizing that we are wasting it.

IX. SoM WEEK

It was my first SoM week here in APC and I had fun  (because there were no classes *yaaay*) Asia Pacific Junior Marketing Association (APJMA), planned and organized a lot of activities. The SoM week opened with the cheers and chants and we were blessed enough to bag the Championship (yay!)

And since we were the champions we had to perform infront of the student body of the School of Management. It was an epic fail, we had so much on our plates the week before the performance that we did not have the time to practice and so we humiliated ourselves in front of everybody. But at least we got humiliated together.

Aside from the cheers and chants me and my friends participated in The Running Man. It is adapted from the South Korean show where players complete a mission at a landmark to win the race. Our team was composed of 5 members. We had so much fun even though we did not know how to play the game that caused us so much time. But we enjoyed and I guess that is what is important.

Oh yeah, there was also a search for Mr. and Ms. SoM 2015, and of course the Marketing and Advertising took home the crowns,Mr. Karyll Lapuz and Ms. Jenna Cruz  are the new Mr. and Ms. SoM 2015 (yaaaay)

VIII. It is not worth it (Anti-smoking campaign)

Smoking- have you ever tried to smoke? Do you smoke? Do you know someone who smokes? Do you like smoking? Do you know what it does to your body?

Growing up, I know some people who smoke and I hear their stories and excuses on why they smoke. Some say that it warms their body when it feels to cold. Some say that it relieeves them of their stress, when things get too much to handle. Some say that they just like it and can't last a day without it. Whatever their reason is, they refuse to understand the gravity of the effects of smoking to them and to the people around them.

I really don't know much about smoking, but this is what I know:

There are cigarettes, vape, tobaccos and shisha. Cigarettes are those contain finely cut tobacco leaves wrapped in paper. I do not know the difference between cigarettes and tobacco. Shisha is a syrupy tobacco mix smoked in a hookah. And vape contains e-liquid and has little to no nicotine and can really help a smoker quit.

But do you know the effects of smoking?

Of course we all know that our lungs are the most affected organ when we smoke. Smoking can cause coughs, colds, wheezing and can cause fatal diseases such as lung cancer, pneumonia and emphysema. Not only that smoking affects our lungs but it also affects other organs, body parts and processes in the body as well. It affects the stomach, the heart, the blood circulation, it affects your skin, your mouth and throat and lastly your fertility. Stomach- smokers have a high chance of getting ulcers or stomach cancer, smoking weakens the muscle that controls the lower end of your gullet and allows acid to travel in the wrong direction back to your gullet. The heart- Carbon monoxide from the smoke and nicotine put a strain on the heart by making it work faster. These chemicals increase a persons risk of blood clots. Other chemicals in a cigarette smoke damage the lining of a persons coronary arteries that can lead to furring of the arteries. Blood Circulation- this is obviously connected to the effects on the heart, the toxins from the cigarette smoke make your blood thicker and therefore increases a persons chance of clot formation, the toxins also make your heart pump faster and work harder, lastly it narrows a persons arteries and reduces the amount of oxgen rich blood circulating to a persons organs. The lists of effects could go on but it won't get better,

A cigarette shortens your life anywhere from seven to eleven minutes. If you can consume ten cigarettes a week, you are taking one hundred ten minutes away from your life. In a year we have 525,500 minutes. There are four weeks a month, so in a month you are taking 440 minutes of your life. In a year that would be 5280 minutes. 5280 precious minutes wasted on cigarette sticks. Is it worth it?

Yes they do make you feel better, but you really don't get better.
