VII. Turn left, Turn right
Turn left, Turn right is a movie about two people always get near each other but can't find one another. It is about John Liu a violinist, and Eve Choi, a translator in a book publishing company. They were at the same time at the same place but they've bumped into each other, but never really got to know each other. Until one fateful day,
they finally met at a fountain. Eve's paper fell in the fountain John had to tell Eve because she was engrossed in what she was doing. They had snacks and while talking they realized that they have met before in an amusement park back then, and that Eve asked for John's number but wasn't able to contact him because she left her school bag. They had fun that afternoon but when the rain started falling they had to look for a place to stay but when they found a shed they saw their land lords and since they were behind rent they decided to split up and exchanged numbers. The movie continued on until they finally met by some sort of miracle.
The whole class had fun watching the movie, the anticipation rising every scene, whenever the pass by each other but doesn't notice one another. It became so thrilling that at times almost everybody was screaming for them to look right, look left or go left, go right. I loved the scene where they finally saw each other again. I wonder how that feels, to look and wait for someone that long and later realize that whoever you are waiting for is just behind your wall. Wouldn't it be so annoying ?
Not yet wholly ready
to transform into fate for them it approached them, then backed off, stood in their way and, suppressing a giggle jumped to the side
I loved this part of the poem "Love at First Sight". This poem is the poem that Eve was translating when she met John, This line is what struck me most, It basically sums up the story, that no matter how many times they came so near to each other they still didn't meet. Doesn't matter if they were so clooooose, fate still had a way of pulling them apart (Something that annoyed me a lot).
